EFFECTIVE
PROPOSAL WRITING
Professional Associates, Inc. (PAI) offers a full- day workshop
that focuses on grantsmanship. The elements of writing a proposal
are presented in detail. Starting with the solicitation process,
the participants will receive information on selective screening
of notices of funding availability. Writing a problem statement,
goals and objectives will be presented with corresponding writing
exercises. The critical questions to be addressed in the methodology
or work plan will be discussed. An overview of evaluation as an
important and often overlooked part of the proposal is a part of
the workshop. The session concludes with a presentation on building
a budget and a discussion of potential funding sources. Throughout
the workshop participants are provided with tips on strengthening

EVALUATION
We currently live in an age of results accountability. More and
more funders are requiring their grantees to provide definitive
evaluative documentation of the results of funded programs. This
workshop will focus on using a Logic Model as a planning, monitoring
and evaluation tool to document program changes and outcomes. >>

PLANNING

strategic plans. A strategic plan is used to develop a practical
framework for an organization based on its needs and demographics.
It is intended to increase the organization's performance and results
in a future vision that informs fundamental decisions. The development
of the strategic plan is also helpful in the clarification of the
